Tonight we experienced The Last Episode of The Greatest Show Of Our Time (TM Vulture). Tonight we said good bye to the fabulous clothes, the crazy schemes, the tumultuous romances, the fickle friendships, and the characters that we came to- despite our better judgement- love and root for over the past 6 years.

With friends like this, who needs friends? At the end of the day- AKA after breaking up 17,592 times- these two are sisters, and they’ve got each other’s backs. Murders (yes, that’s multiple), deception, drugs- they’re there.

The romances:

Lily & Rufus: can you revisit old lovers? Yes, but it may not work out. There’s something satisfying that these two didn’t work out, it was maybe the one realistic shred of truth in a 6-season series. She ends up with William (yeah, sure, okay) and Rufus with LISA LOEB!!!!!!

Nate and his Smoldering Gaze : we don’t know who he ends up with, BUT THANK GOD IT’S NOT SAGE. Was anyone else kind of hoping for Vanessa?

Dan & Serena: dated in the show, broke up in the show, dated in real life, broke up in real life: these two sometimes had us rooting for them and more often had us despising them. Were we happy with their wedding in the end? ……..okay, yes. Yes, we were.

Chuck and Blair: perfect, heaven, MeAnT 2 bE. But really, other than the seven Dan and Blair fans, everyone else was always pro-Chair. Thank god they ended up together.

Lest I forget Georgina and Jack, because, well why not?

And so we say good-bye to an era. Oh, btdubs, Dan is Gossip Girl. What a wang.
